Café Intime / Intim Bar

The inspiration for this piece came from a grandchild whose grandparents once owned Café Intime, also known as Intim Bar.

Café Intime in Frederiksberg first opened its doors in 1922. At one point, the venue had locked booths accessible only by the bartender. Café Intime became known in the gay community as a place where people could find privacy and feel safe.
